Nick Wissman Returns To The #FlyBoys As An Assistant Coach

The 2024 Grad Will Work With Pitchers

DAYTON – University of Dayton baseball head coach Jayson King has added class of 2024's Nick Wissman to the coaching staff as an assistant coach with a focus on pitching.

"I am very excited to welcome back former Dayton Flyer Nick Wissman to our coaching staff. Having the highest-ever draft pick, Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Year and All-American working with our pitchers will be an incredible boost to our program," King said. "He knows what it takes to get it done at the highest level on the mound at UD. Our student-athletes will thrive working with him."

Wissman had a highly decorated career with the FlyBoys. In addition to being the program's highest-ever MLB draft pick, he was the program's first Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Year and was named to the NCBWA All-American Second Team and ABCA All-American Third Team in 2024. The right-handed pitcher sits in third in career ERA for the Flyers with a 2.87 and ninth in career wins with 16 from 2021-2024. He is second in single-season wins, posting 11 in 2024.

The Dayton native made a total of 72 appearances with UD, pitching 119.1 innings and striking out 116 batters.

"I couldn't be more excited to be a part of the Dayton baseball program again," Wissman said. "God has blessed me with a special opportunity to give back to a place that has given me everything."
