Erhahon Named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week

Senior Middle Blocker Set the Single-Game Program Record for Hitting Percentage, Twice

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Senior middle blocker Amber Erhahon has been named the Atlantic 10 Volleyball Player of the Week as announced by the league office. This is the first weekly honor for a Flyer this season.

VCU junior Tori Baldwin earned Defensive Player of the Week honors while La Salle freshman Samantha Graver was selected as the league's Rookie of the Week. All awards were for matches played Sept. 4-10.

Erhahon led the Flyers over a 3-1 week with 3.71 kills per set, a .538 hitting percentage and 1.36 blocks per set. The middle blocker from Albany, Calif., opened the week with an 18-kill, six-dig, four-block outing against Miami (Ohio) Tuesday night. On Saturday morning, Erhahon set a new program single-game record with her .824 hitting percentage on the strength of 14 kills to zero errors in 17 attempts to go with six blocks against Cincinnati. In Saturday's nightcap against Seton Hall, she tied the Redbird Arena single-game record and bested her own school record with an .867 hitting percentage (13-0-15) to go with eight blocks. For her efforts over the weekend, Erhahon was named the MVP of the Redbird Classic.

Dayton returns home to Frericks Center for a mid-week tilt against IUPUI Tuesday. First serve is set for 7 p.m. and admission is free.
