The latest version of the Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings were released on Tuesday afternoon and Dayton junior
Jordan Benjamin was ranked No. 115 in the country. Benjamin becomes just the first player ranked nationally since
Zach Berry was ranked No. 125 in the fall of 2014.
The honor was a long time coming for Benjamin, who has run through his opponents at No. 1 singles this season, and has accrued an overall record of 12-0 during dual match play. Among Benjamin's key victories include defeating fellow-ranked opponent Maik Steiner of Western Michigan, a victory this past weekend over Bryant's Matt Kuhar, who has defeated three top-100 players this season, and a perfect 4-0 mark in Atlantic 10 matches.
Benjamin's individual success has also spurred a tremendous amount of team success for Dayton this season. He has helped lead the Flyers to a 13-3 record, including an eight-match win streak, as the team heads to the back half of the regular season.
Dayton will host conference foe La Salle on Sunday at the Five Seasons Sports Club with the match beginning at 11 a.m.
