#Flyboys Notes
  • After losing a pair of one-run games to open up last week, Dayton now has a 2-6 record in games decided by one run this season.
  • Brandon Smith led the way at the plate for the Flyers last week with three home runs and six runs batted in. He now has four home runs in his last five games.
  • Smith is now tied with Pat Meehan for the team lead in home runs with six and now leads the Flyers RBIs with 25 on the season.
  • Meehan still leads the Flyers in several offensive categories, including batting average (.303), runs scored (22), home runs (6-tied), and slugging % (.546).
  • Smith and Meehan are both currently on five-game hitting streaks, tied for the longest active streaks on the team.
  • Smith and Tate Hagan hit back-to-back home runs in the sixth inning of the series finale against Saint Louis on Sunday, marking the first time that Dayton had accomplished back-to-back long balls this season.
  • Hagan went 3-for-4 at the plate that game, tying his season high for hits in a game, with a home run and two runs scored.
  • Justin Longbrake struck out a career-high eight batters in just 4.1 innings against Toledo last Tuesday in his first career start.
  • Longbrake also threw 0.2 perfect innings in game two of the doubleheader against Saint Louis to bring his team-best ERA to 4.09 this season.
  • Jonathan Brus earned his first career hit in game one of the doubleheader vs. the Billikens with a clutch, two-out RBI that put the game-tying run on first base in an eventual 9-8 loss.
  • Brus followed up game one of the doubleheader by earning his first career start in the lineup in game two, getting the nod at designated hitter.
