NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – University of Dayton freshman Izzy Greene has been named the first Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week for the 2018 season. The award is for games played Aug. 16-19.

Greene scored the game-winning goal in the 89th minute to give the Flyers a come-from-behind victory on the road over James Madison in the JMU Fairfield by Marriott Invitational. It was her first collegiate shot which resulted in her first collegiate goal. The Lyndhurst, Ohio product also had a game-high two shots in Dayton's 2-1 OT win over William & Mary as the Flyers won the weekend tournament. She's helped the Flyers to a 2-0-0 start this season, the best start for Dayton since 2011. 

George Washington's Alexis Williams was named the A-10 Offensive Player of the Week and La Salle goalkeeper Claudia Jenkins was named the A-10 Defensive Player of the Week. 

•  Dayton hosts Louisville this Thursday, Aug. 23 at 7 p.m. at Baujan Field. Admission is free.
•  Promotions include schedule posters and thunder sticks for all. Vuvuzelas for the first 25 fans.
•  For students, there is a raffle for a Google Home, as well as Dayton Flyer T-shirts and free food.
• There will be autographs after the match.
