#UDWTEN Kicks Off Fall Season On Friday In Cincinnati

The Flyers Will Compete At The Greater Cincinnati Collegiate Invitational In Mason, Ohio

Dayton women's tennis will be back in action this weekend, kicking off their fall season at the Greater Cincinnati Collegiate Invitational. The event is hosted by Northern Kentucky University and will be played at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio, home of the Western and Southern Open. Women's doubles play will kick off the tournament at 8 a.m., followed by men's doubles before heading into match play.

Updates for the tournament will be posted on Twitter @UDFlyerTennis or on NKU's live stats page HERE.

KEY RETURNERS
Mattea Kilstofte  –  One season after going 12-8 at the No. 2 spot in the lineup, Kilstofte will slide into the top spot of the lineup in 2018-19 for the Flyers. After the departure of three seniors in Marlys Bridgham, as well as Jade and Jackie Kawamoto, Kilstofte will also be counted on to provide senior leadership along with Kristina Benjamin.

Kelly Pleiman  – After being inserted into the lineup and gaining significant experience as a true freshman last season, Pleiman now has her first year of collegiate tennis under her belt and will look to pick up where she left off in 2017-18. Pleiman, who also was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week on Feb. 28 for her match-clinching win against Illinois State, went 10-15 in her inaugural season as a Flyer.

Natalie Allen – Now entering her third season with the program, Allen boasted a 10-7 record in dual match play a season ago, en route to piling up 13 wins, which was tied for the second most on the team along with Kilstofte and the now-graduated Jackie Kawamoto.

KEY NEWCOMERS
Emily Zargham – Zargham transfers to Dayton this season from fellow A-10 member Rhode Island, where she was a top performer and played primarily at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots in the lineup for the Rams during the 2016-17 season. Originally from Torrance, Calif., Zargham posted a 158-14 combined record in singles and doubles play throughout her prep career at Redondo Union High School. She has three seasons of eligibility remaining.

Mary Brascia – A three-star recruit from Mission Viejo, Calif., Brascia will look to make an immediate impact as a true freshman this season.
