NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - For the third-consecutive year and the fifth time in the last six seasons a University of Dayton volleyball player has been named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Year in

Amelia Moore picked up the program's second-consecutive A-10 Rookie of the Year award. The year-end awards were announced Thursday preceding the 2019 Atlantic 10 Volleyball Championship.
Fordham's Morgan Williams earned Libero of the Year, La Salle's Kathryn Wood was named Setter of the Year and VCU's Jody Rogers was voted Coach of the Year.
Peterson led the league in kills with 476 for 4.67 per set and sat third in service aces per set with an average of 0.41. After not playing the last two seasons, the redshirt sophomore from West Liberty, Ohio, led the Flyers in kills, kills per set and service aces (42) and sat second in digs (243) and third in blocks (80). Peterson earned A-10 Player of the Week honors seven times this season for her efforts.

Moore totaled 162 kills on the season hitting .296 overall. The five-time A-10 Rookie of the Week from Ocean Springs, Miss., put up 235.5 total points for the Flyers this season in 93 sets.
Peterson was also named to the All-Conference First Team while Moore earned mention on both the Second Team and All-Rookie Team. For their efforts both on the court and in the classroom, junior

Maura Collins were voted onto the All-Academic Team.
Two-seeded Dayton earned a first-round bye at this weekend's championship and will play the winner of #3 Saint Louis vs. #6 Davidson in the semifinals Saturday at 7 p.m. The tournament is being held at Rhode Island's Keaney Gymnasium in Kingston, R.I., Nov. 22-24.
