DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's soccer team (0-0-0, 0-0-0 A-10) kicks off the 2019 season by hosting the Miami RedHawks (0-0-0, 0-0-0 MAC) tonight, Thursday, Aug. 22. Kickoff is 7:35 p.m..

THE SERIES
• Dayton is 3-1-0 all-time vs. Miami. The last meeting was a 2-1 Flyer win on the road on Sept. 18, 2009. UD has won three consecutive matches vs. the RedHawks.
FLYER QUICK HITS
• The Flyers went 8-9-2 overall last season.
• UD returns 16 letterwinners from that squad and they have 10 newcomers.
• Senior
Micayla Livingston is Dayton's leading returning scorer.
• Sophomore
Izzy Greene, a 2018 A-10 All-Rookie selection, was UD's second leading scorer last year.

• Key losses for the Flyers include graduated seniors
Keagin Collie, four-year starting goalkeeper
Kaelyn Johns who had 18 career shutouts, as well as
Beth Kamphaus and
Nadia Pestell, both four-year starting defenders.
• Head coach
Eric Golz is in his third season at the helm of the Flyers. He previously served as an assistant at UD in 2011.
SCOUTING MIAMI
• Miami was 3-14-1 in 2018 and 1-10-0 in the MAC.
• Miami went 2-0 in its exhibition matches, defeating both Valparaiso (1-0) and Eastern Kentucky (4-0) in shutouts.
• The RedHawks rosters is comprised of 21 freshmen and sophomores and four upper classmen
• Miami has eight returning starters, including Mid-American Conference All-Freshman Team performer Lyda Bogdanovitch, who led the team with six goals last season.
• MU's returners account for 14 of the team's 17 goals a year ago.

Courtney Sirmans is in her second season as head coach of the RedHawks. She is a former Flyer women's soccer freshman All-American and a 2008 University of Dayton graduate. She was a two-time member of the Atlantic 10 All-Championship team.
