NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – University of Dayton freshman
Laney Huber was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week for games played Sept. 9-15.
Huber led the Flyers with six shots (including a team-high three on goal), a .333 shot percentage, five points, two goals, and an assist in Dayton's 1-1 week. The Loveland, Ohio, native had a goal and an assist in UD's loss to undefeated Louisville and a team-high five shots and the game-winning goal in UD's 1-0 win over Eastern Michigan to close out non-conference action.
Massachusetts' Melissa Kossler and Duquesne's Deena DeBaldo were named the Atlantic 10 Conference Women's Soccer Co-Players of the Week and Saint Louis's Mary Niehaus earned Defensive Player of the Week honors.
The Flyers open Atlantic 10 action this Sunday at Baujan Field vs. George Mason at 1 p.m. It is also the UD Women's Soccer Alumnae Match.
