NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - University of Dayton senior Jessica Weaver was named the Atlantic 10 Softball Pitcher of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday.

La Salle's Courtney Shupp was named Player of the Week while George Mason's Rachel Warrens earned Rookie of the Week honors.

Weaver, from Lebanon, Ind., posted a win and a save in the circle for Dayton over the weekend, posting a 0.95 ERA over 14.2 innings of work. In Friday's 5-0 win over Oakland, she tossed the final two scoreless innings to combine for the shutout and earn the save. In her start Saturday against Appalachian State, Weaver posted a complete-game shutout win with five strikeouts to zero walks. On Sunday, she worked 5.2 innings against UNCG allowing two runs and tallying two strikeouts.

Dayton returns to action this weekend with the Eastern Kentucky Invitational March 6-8. The three-day event will feature games against Akron, UIC and host EKU and will be played at the Colonels' Gertrude Hood Field.
