DAYTON – University of Dayton men's tennis coach Ryan Meyer announced that Erik Eliasson has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Flyer men's tennis team in January of 2021.
 
Eliasson, of Kinna, Sweden, is 6-foot-4 and has experience in international competition. His highest ITF ranking was 723 and has been ranked as high as eighth, nationally, in his age group.

"I'm very excited about Erik coming to UD," said Meyer. "He brings high-level experience in both singles and doubles. Erik will be a great addition and I look forward to him getting here in January."
 
Eliasson reached the final in doubles at the 2019 U18 Swedish Championship and the semifinal at the 2020 U21 Swedish Championship. He won the 2020 regionals male class

Eliasson advanced to the semifinals of the ITF 2019 Jönköping and the quarterfinals at the ITF grade 3 Malaysia event.

He also played for his home club's first team in the highest league in Sweden (Elitserien) at the No. 4 spot.

"Getting the opportunity to play for the UD men's tennis team is just an amazing feeling for me," said Eliasson. "The team spirit and the goals this team has fit mine perfectly and I'm so blessed of being a part of what this team has to offer.
 
"I'm also very grateful for the opportunity coach Meyer has given me and that he saw my potential as a part of this team," he added. "I can't wait to spend my next four years here at UD and compete with the men's tennis team."
