DAYTON - Sophomore forward Itala Gemelli was chosen by the Atlantic 10 Conference as it's Player of the Week on Monday, following a week in which she tallied four goals including a penalty kick goal.

Gemelli earns the honor for the third time this season, after helping lead the Flyers to two crucial Atlantic 10 victories last week. In Thursday's match against George Washington, Gemelli netted the eventual game winning goal on a penalty kick in the 67th minute, and added another insurance goal in the 84th minute. Itala followed that performance up with another two-goal match in Sunday's contest against St. Bonaventure, including a crucial insurance goal late in the match. Her second of Sunday's match was her tenth goal of the season, a year after being named first team All-Conference in her freshman season.
