DAYTON - University of Dayton men's football junior
Jake Chisholm and women's basketball sophomore
Makira Cook have been named the
Ohio's CollegeAdvantage Student-Athletes of the Week for contests during the week of Nov. 8-14.
A native of Union, Kentucky, Chisholm tied the Dayton record for touchdowns in a game (5) in UD's 38-29 win over Davidson on Saturday. He carried the ball 34 times for 226 yards, caught three passes for 46 yards and returned three kickoffs for 62 yards, giving him 334 all-purpose yards, just three yards short of the best all-purpose day in FCS football this season. Chisholm ran for three scores, and two of his three receptions were for touchdowns. He was named the PFLÂ Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season in addition to his recognition as the Stats Perform National Offensive Player of the Week.
Hailing from Cincinnati, Ohio, Cook led the Flyers last week with 20.5 points per game as Dayton defeated Alabama A&M but came up short to Duke. The sophomore guard started both games and shot 51.4 percent from the floor. Cook dropped a career-high 23 points and tied a career-high with six rebounds in the win on Tuesday before scoring 18 points with three rebounds and four assists against Duke Friday. She was also a perfect 3-for-3 from three point range and had just 1.5 turnovers per game.
Each week we will recognize Dayton student-athletes throughout the end of the school year.
