NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference released its weekly awards for men's cross country and honored University of Dayton sophomore Calan Gizelbach as the Performer of the Week.

The sophomore runner from Georgia finished first overall at the opening meet of the season with a time of 24:47 at the Wright State meet last Saturday. This is the first honor for Gizelbach this year.

It was the 50^th-best 8K time in program history and a new PR for the former A-10 All-Rookie performer.

Dayton went on to win the meet as a team with nine of the top 10 times.

The Flyers return to action on Feb. 19 at Butler in Carmel, Ind.
