Bullis Recognized By A-10 As Softball Rookie Of The Week

First Weekly Honor For Bullis, Third Overall For The Team This Season

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - University of Dayton freshman Addy Bullis has been named the Atlantic 10 Softball Rookie of the Week, the first weekly award for the left-handed pitcher. The awards, announced Tuesday and presented by Biosteel, are for games played March 8-14.

Saint Louis junior Gabbie Kowalik was named Softball Player of the Week, while George Mason senior Haellie Gordon was named the Pitcher of the Week.

For the week, Bullis posted a 0.93 ERA with 13 strikeouts over 15.0 innings of work in three appearances for the Flyers. She tossed a complete-game, 3-2 win over Illinois State on Friday with a career-high eight strikeouts. On Saturday, the LHP from Ivoryton, Conn., closed out Dayton's extra innings loss to North Dakota State, working 2.2 innings with zero earned runs and two strikeouts. In Saturday's nightcap against Illinois State, Bullis put in 5.1 innings while striking out three and allowing only one hit.

Dayton (4-8) will head to Lexington Saturday for a doubleheader against No. 9/10 Kentucky at the Wildcats' John Cropp Stadium. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. March 20.
