DAYTON - University of Dayton men's golf team and softball freshman
Addy Bullis have been named the
Ohio's College Advantage Student-Athletes of the Week for contests during the week of March 8-14.
The men's golf team claimed top team honors at the 2021 Pinehurst Intercollegiate Sunday, besting second-place finisher Abilene Christian by two strokes. The Flyers posted a team score of 300-289-296=885 (+33) for the three-day event played on Pinehurst No. 8 at par 71 and 6,937 yards. Senior
Connor Quigley turned in rounds of 72 and 71 on the final two days to highlight the Flyers' run at the title.
For the week, Bullis posted a 0.93 ERA with 13 strikeouts over 15.0 innings of work in three appearances for the Flyers. She tossed a complete-game, 3-2 win over Illinois State on Friday with a career-high eight strikeouts. On Saturday, the LHP from Ivoryton, Conn., closed out Dayton's extra innings loss to North Dakota State, working 2.2 innings with zero earned runs and two strikeouts. In Saturday's nightcap against Illinois State, Bullis put in 5.1 innings while striking out three and allowing only one hit. She was also recognized by the Atlantic 10 as Softball Rookie of the Week.
