DAYTON - University of Dayton men's cross country senior
Owen Pukys and women's golf junior
Kylee Heidemann have been named the
Ohio's CollegeAdvantage Student-Athletes of the Week. These awards are for contests held Sept. 29-Oct. 5.
Pukys continued his historic senior season in his hometown Saturday at the Louisville Cross Country Classic as he set a new 8k school record of 23:51.4 to take seventh place in the event. This is the third-straight top-10 finish and PR for Pukys this year after missing the entirety of last season.
Dayton played a total of 90 holes of golf during two events over three days, capped off by Heidemann's first career medalist finish at Butler's Fall Invitational on Tuesday. She helped lead the Flyers to a third-place finish at Notre Dame's Women's Fighting Irish Classic, a 36-hole event on Sept. 28. The Cincinnati native fired off a program-record-low round of 66 in round two of Butler's Invitational and went on to win a three-hole playoff after tying for first place among the field of 82.
