NEW ORLEANS – University of Dayton junior
Emily Sreenan was named All-Academic for the 2020 NCAA Division I Cross Country season by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) today.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and have either qualified for the national championship meet or finished top-5 at their respective conference championship.
Sreenan, a secondary Catholic religious education major, finished in fourth place at the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship race in 17:24.9, which is fifth-best all-time at UD. She earned Atlantic 10 All-Conference honors for the second consecutive season.
In addition, under the direction of head coach
Jason Ordway, both the UD women's and men's cross country squads were named USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams for 2020. The UD women's team has a team cumulative GPA of 3.6639. The Flyers are coming off a second-place finish at the 2020-21 Atlantic 10 Women's Cross Country Championship.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period.
