DAYTON – The University of Dayton men's and women's cross country teams return to action this week, as they will head to the University of Notre Dame, to take part in the Joe Piane – Notre Dame Invitational. This event is scheduled to be one of the top national meets in the regular season this year, with 40 of the 56 attending teams being featured in the USTFCCCA National Rankings this week.
On the women's side, the Flyers will look to continue their success, following a strong third place finish out of 28 competing universities at the All-Ohio Championships at Cedarville University on Sept. 17.
Abby Carter once again led the Flyers in this event, with her 22:37.6 time in the 6K championship race placing her 11
th overall, followed closely by
Ellie Tighe's 22:48.1 which placed her 12
th.

The men finished fourth overall at the All-Ohio Championships two weeks ago, with four Flyer runners finishing in the top-30 overall. In the championship 8K race,
Sam Duncan led all Flyers with an overall time of 25:29.0, which landed him 13
th overall in the race. Freshman
Austin Callahan was the only other Flyer to finish in the top-25 overall, with his 26:06.0 time landing him the 23
rd spot on the overall leaderboard.

Both the men and women will compete in the Gold Race, which for the women will be ran at 1:30 p.m., and the men will run at 2:15.
