Men's & Women's Cross Country Gear Up For Atlantic 10 Championships

Flyers Look To Continue Positive Momentum Heading Into Postseason

DAYTON - The University of Dayton men's and women's cross country programs head to the Atlantic 10 Championship on Saturday October 29. The A-10 Championship will be hosted by the University of Richmond in Mechanicsville, Virginia at Pole Green Park.

Heading into the Championship, the men's program finished their regular season very strong at the 8K Falcon Invitational, hosted by Bowling Green State University. The Flyers placed 1st of 9 teams with the help of Bryce Conley, who placed 3rd overall, as well as Sam Duncan (25:06.1) and Connor Ewert (25:11.9). The Flyers have been dominant the majority of the season finishing first or second in three of their four races. They look to keep this winning mentality going as they face their toughest competition yet in the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship.

The women's program has also been dominant throughout the season, especially in their last meeting where they ran a 6K at Bowling Green and placed 2nd overall. The squad was led by Emily Sreenan (21:53.5) and Abby Carter (21.55.0). The Flyers have also finished in the top three in a majority of their races this season, thanks in part to Sreenan and Carter.

Both programs look to compete on a big stage where they will face tough competition across the entire Atlantic 10 Conference. The women's program will commence the championship event with a 5K at 10:00 a.m, and the men's program will follow that up by running an 8K at 10:50 a.m. Live results will be available on the schedule pages at DaytonFlyers.com.
