DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's basketball team and head coach
Tamika Williams-Jeter have announced the addition of four student-athletes to the program for next season as part of the 2023 signing class.
These four individuals will attend UD in the fall and make up Coach Williams-Jeter class for the 2023-24 season.
"The 2023 class adds depth and versatility with their abilities to play multiple positions," said Coach Williams-Jeter. "This is a very diverse group. We have kids that come from farms, from little nowhere Pennsylvania, the Bahamas, and the middle of Ohio that are coming together. They are extremely high character kids. They are very competitive and are coming in with an expectation and knowing what it means to play at a place like Dayton. They are extremely talented. I am really excited about them joining the family."
Eve Fiala – Center – 6-4 – Indiana High School - Indiana, Pa.
Fiala is a traditional center with exciting elements to her game, coming to Dayton from Indiana Area Senior High School in Pennsylvania. She earned All-State and All-Conference honors the past three seasons. She played her club basketball for the United Basketball Club and won Queen of the Rock honors at the Certified Basketball Tournament in Cincinnati.
Denika Lightbourne – 5-10 - Guard – Tallulah Falls High School (Ga.) – Nassau, Bahamas
Lightbourne is a native of Nassau, Bahamas, but plays her high school ball in Georgia at Tallulah Falls. With the Indians, she led her team to the regional championship last season while earning team MVP and team captain honors. She has twice received First Team honors, and is a Presidential Scholar and School Ambassador. The 5-10 guard has been selected for both the Bahamas National Junior and Senior Women's teams.
Lauren Pallotta – Guard – 5-10 – Massillon Jackson High School - Canton, Ohio
Pallotta is a guard out of Canton, Ohio where she has been a standout at Massillon Jackson High School the last three years. She earned First Team All-Federal League, First Team All-District 4, Second Team All-NE Inland, and Honorable Mention All-Ohio last season. Prior to that, she received Honorable Mention All-Federal League as a sophomore while leading her team to the championship. Pallotta helped lead her team to district and regional titles as a junior while averaging 15.1 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game. Academically, she is a member of National Honor Society and was an All-America nominee in lacrosse as well.
Riley Rismiller – Forward – 6-4 – Coldwater High School - Coldwater, Ohio
Rismiller will join the Flyers after her stellar career at Coldwater High School in Ohio. There the 6-4 forward has received a bevy of accolades including All-State Special Mention and All-County Player of the Year as a junior. She has been named All-County First Team and All-Conference First Team twice, as well as All-State Honorable Mention as a sophomore and All-Conference Honorable Mention as a freshman. Rismiller is averaging 13.5 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game going into her senior year. She has been just as successful in volleyball, leading her team to the state championship game this fall, as well as earning High Honor Roll honors and is a member of the National Honor Society.
