NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference announced the results of it's Women's Soccer Preseason Poll & All-Conference Team on Thursday, and the Flyers were selected to finish second overall amongst the 15 voters. Junior striker
Itala Gemelli was also named to the Preseason All-Conference team as the Flyers' lone representative.
The Flyers received one first place vote following a record-setting season in the Atlantic 10 in 2021 where they went 8-2 in conference, securing the second overall seed in the A-10 Championships. Then-sophomore
Itala Gemelli paced the Flyers all season, scoring a team-leading 12 goals on pace to be named the Atlantic 10's Offensive Player of the Year.

The Flyers open up the 2022 season next Thursday, Aug. 18 as they host the Toledo Rockets at Baujan Field. The Atlantic 10 slate of matches will begin Sept. 15 on the road against Davidson.
