Dayton Student-Athletes Will Be Recognized Throughout the School Year

DAYTON - University of Dayton men's basketball junior DaRon Holmes II and women's basketball junior Ivy Wolf have been named the Ohio's CollegeAdvantage Student-Athletes of the Week. These awards are for contests held Nov. 20-26.

Holmes, a Goodyear, Arizona, native, led UD with 18 points in Friday's win over Youngstown State. The game turned on a 9-0 first-half-finishing run that began and ended with Holmes dunks. The last one gave the Flyers a two-point halftime lead. Twelve of Holmes' 18 points came in the second half as Dayton extended a lead it kept for the rest of the game. Holmes made six of eight field goals, drew a season-high 11 fouls and also blocked four shots.

Hailing from Minster, Ohio, Wolf led the Flyers to three wins last week while averaging 17.7 points, 4.0 assists, and 3.3 rebounds per game. The junior guard shot 46.3 percent overall and a lights-out 61.9 percent from three point range. She highlighted the week with a career-high eight made threes in the victory over Stetson at the Daytona Beach Invitational, finishing with a game-high 25 points in the contest. Wolf scored double figures in all three wins last week.
