Softball Inks Seven To Join The Team Next Season

DAYTON – University of Dayton softball head coach Cara Clark has announced the signing of seven to National Letters of Intent to continue their academic and athletic careers at UD. Camryn Craig (Traverse City, Mich./Traverse City Central), Gracie Gladding (Blairsville, Ga./Union County), Juliana Gonzalez (Lebanon, Ohio/Lebanon), Katelin Goodwin (Pendleton, Ind./Pendleton Heights), Ella Holman (New Palestine, Ohio/New Palestine), Addy Justice (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) and Camrynn Linneman (Cleves, Ohio/Taylor) will join the Flyers roster for the 2025 season.

"The future of Flyer softball just got brighter with the addition of this outstanding recruiting class," reflected coach Clark. "The combined accomplishments of this group are remarkable. We've gotten stronger in all phases of the game and look forward to seeing the immediate impact of these student-athletes."

Camryn Craig, a native of Traverse City, Michigan, is a 5-8 right-handed pitcher set to graduate from Traverse City Central High School this spring. During the 2023 season, under the direction of Trojans head coach Nate Alger, she recorded 189 strikeouts over 102 innings of work and posted a 14-4 record in the circle. At the plate, Craig boasted a .450 average with 50 hits and 42 RBI. She earned mention on the All-District and All-Region Teams for her work in the circle this past year while also getting it done in the classroom, earning the Bronze Pin for maintaining a 3.5 GPA and an AP Studio Art Scholarship award. Craig plays club ball with the Tennessee Mojo organization under head coach Matt Abernathy which tied for 25th place at the 2023 PFG National Championship.

Gracie Gladding, a 5-7 first baseman, hails from Blairsville, Georgia, and is playing her prep career at Union County High School under head coach Carissa Owenby. Following her junior season with the Panthers, she was named to the All-Region First Team and her squad's Offensive MVP. Gladding set the school record for single-season batting average (.534) and is tied for first place for career batting average and career home runs. She helped lead the Panthers to the regional championship title in 2022, earning mention on the All-State Second Team. Gladding plays club ball on Georgia Impact's Carver 18U team lead by head coach Ryan Carver.

Lebanon, Ohio, native Juliana Gonzalez, a 5-3 infielder at Lebanon High School, has earned three varsity letters under head coach Brian Kendell. She helped lead the Warriors to a regional championship in 2023 behind her .376 batting average and .504 on-base percentage after the team earned a share of the Eastern Cincinnati Conference regular season title. Gonzalez has twice been named to the ECC First Team and was honored on the Second Team following her freshman season in 2021. In the classroom, she has earned the distinction of the Harmon Civic Trust Scholar Athlete, given to student-athletes that hold a 3.5 GPA while lettering in a varsity sport at Lebanon. Gonzalez is a member of Turnin2's 18U Maloney National squad coached by Shawn Maloney.

A 5-10 catcher/infielder, Katelin Goodwin will come to Dayton from Pendleton, Indiana, upon graduation from Pendleton Heights High School in this spring. She has played three varsity seasons with the Arabians under head coach Rob Davis. Goodwin enters her senior year at Pendleton Heights carrying a .471 batting average with 75 RBI and 17 home runs for her career. The 2024 team captain has been a part of back-to-back sectional and regional championship and was named to the 2023 All-Hoosier Heritage Conference Team after leading the Arabians with 45 RBI and eight doubles. Goodwin has been named to the Pendleton Heights Honor Roll for three-straight years and is a member of the National Honor Society. Most recently, she has played club ball with the Indiana Gators.

Ella Holman, out of New Palestine, Indiana, will join the team after closing out her prep career at New Palestine High School. The 5-6 catcher/outfielder has earned two varsity letters as a member of the Dragons squad coached by Ed Marcum. This past May, Holman helped lead her squad to a share of the 2023 Hoosier Heritage Conference regular season title and an appearance in the sectional title game. A member of the National Honors Society, she is on the student council and works as a teacher's assistant at New Palestine. Holman is also a three-year member of the Dragons girl's basketball team. She plays her club softball with the Indiana Magic Gold organization on the 18U National squad coached by Aaron Loudermilk.

Hailing from Fishers, Indiana, Addy Justice is a 5-4 outfielder at Hamilton Southeastern High School under head coach Emily Pusti. She enters her senior season with the Royals carrying a career .362 batting average and .400 on-base percentage. Following the 2023 season, Justice was named to the All-County First Team and the Hoosier Crossroads Conference Second Team and also earned mention on the Academic All-State roster. After posting the team's highest GPA for the 2021-22 academic year, Justice earned the Varsity Softball GPA Team Award and she is a member of the National Honor Society. She plays her club ball with the Lady Dukes on its 24/25 Lamar/Kiemeyer squad under head coach Matt Kiemeyer.

Camrynn Linneman, a 5-6 pitcher/utility player for Taylor High School is a native of Cleves, Ohio. Heading into her fourth year with the Yellow Jackets under the tutelage of coaches Craig Linneman and Ericka Leonard, she already holds three school career records: pitching strikeouts (595), home runs (28) and hits (148). Linneman has helped lead her team to three-consecutive Cincinnati Hills League titles and was named the CHL Athlete of the Year in 2023. The three-time CHL First Team member was also named to the All-District First Team, the All-Ohio First Team and the Cincinnati.com Player of the Year following her junior year. Linneman has been recognized as a Taylor High School Scholar Athlete and is a three-time member of the THS honor roll. A member of the Ohio Hawks Fastpitch organization, she plays her club ball on Julie Joseforsky's 18U team which tied for 25th place at the 2023 PFG National Championship.
