DAYTON – New University of Dayton head football coach Trevor Andrews has announced his first recruiting class.  Andrews and his staff have added 37 incoming freshmen for the 2023 season.

"I'm thrilled to welcome the first recruiting class of our era," Andrews said.  "We were able to land an extremely high-quality class in a remarkably short time.  I'm very impressed by their character, academic success and football acumen, and a bit surprised it came together so quickly.

"Our staff did a great job of identifying and pursuing the kind of young men we want in our program.  We didn't win every battle, but we won a lot of them, and we didn't have to just settle in any way."

The newest Flyers hail from six states.  There are 21 from Ohio, eight from Illinois, and two each from Indiana, Michigan, Missouri and New Jersey.  Eighteen are offensive players, 17 are defensive players and two are kicking specialists.
