KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The University of Dayton track and field and men's cross country wrapped up their three-day meet at the Tennessee Invite and their one-day meet at the Flames Invitational. The Flames Invitational was held on Friday in Cleveland, Tennessee. This weekend, the Flyers achieved several notable times, which included many PRs and even a top-five school record. Dayton once again had to face difficult weather conditions with rain being the factor this week.

Highlights

• Four out of the five athletes that competed at the Flames Invitational earned PRs in the 10,000m race.
• Freshman Anna Yater landed a PR and seventh place in the hammer throw with her 49.80m throw to start the Tennessee Invite.
• Casey Bogues finished in second place in the javelin with a throw of 44.19m.
• Freshman Jadyn Haywood won her heat and finished ninth out of 46 competitors in the 200m dash.
• Grace Homan took third place and set an outdoor PR for the shot put with her 14.27m put. Homan now holds the best shot put mark in the A-10 for this season.
• Abby Carter set a PR and led the Flyers in the 1500m race by finishing in seventh with a 4:30.26 time on Friday. She proceeded to set a PR in the 800m with her 2:16.09 time on Saturday.
• Zoe Chappelle finished in fourth place in the 3000m steeplechase with her season-best time of 11:01.13. This is now the fifth-best mark in the A-10 for this season.
• The Flyers earned 16 PRs throughout their weekend in Tennessee.

"We had impressive marks across the board once again… with our sprint squad hitting a great time of 47.75 in the 4x100m and new personal bests from Jadyn Haywood in the 200m with a 24.65, Lauren Santiago in the 400m hurdles with 1:04.02, and Jailee Clemmons jumping 5.32m in the long jump."

"We were impressed by the throwers continuing to move up the rankings in the A-10 conference with Grace Homan climbing the rankings with her 14.27m season-best mark that got her third in the shot put. Rebekah Conrad and Jillian Yates both had season-best marks as well in the shot put with 11.98m and 11.73m, respectively. Anna Yater was able to PR in hammer [throw] with a 49.80m [throw] to have her place seventh and Jillian Yates with a new personal best in the hammer [throw] with a 47.63m mark."

"On the men's distance side, there were two top-10 performances featured this weekend. Senior Andrew Schuster lowered his 10K PR to 30:15 and now has the fourth-fastest time in program history. Adam Jones PR'd for the third consecutive meet in the 5000m, which led him to the 10th fastest time in outdoor history of 14:46."
