RICHMOND, Va. – For the third time in the
Jayson King era, Dayton heads to the Atlantic 10 Tournament, this time as the No. 3 seed, to take on No. 6 George Mason Tuesday, May 23 at 7 p.m. The tournament, hosted by VCU, will be held at The Diamond in Richmond, Va., home of the Richmond Flying Squirrels.

ABOUT THE FLYBOYS
- This season marks the 11th time in program history Dayton has made the Atlantic 10 Tournament, and coincidentally the fourth time making it as the tournament's No. 3 seed. The Flyers have an all-time record of 14-18 in the league's postseason tournament, winning the tournament for the first and only time in 2012. Since head coach
Jayson King took over the program in 2018, the #FlyBoys have made the tournament three times. In the previous two instances (2019 & 2021), UD advanced to the championship game before falling.
- The Dayton pitching staff has already set a new record for strikeouts in a season in 2023, fanning 517 opposing hitters. This tops the previous record of 491 set by the 2019 pitching staff. Senior
Mark Manfredi leads the team with 90 strikeouts, putting him in a tie for fourth all-time with Hunter Wolfe. Cameron Hobson has the all-time record of 105 set in 2011, while Wolfe and #ProFlyer Mike Hauschild are tied for second with 92.

- Dayton's offense has slugged 69 home runs on the season, tying them for third all-time with the 2021 team in program history. The 2009 team set the high-water mark for the program with 77 homers, breaking the previous mark of 71 set by the 1993 squad.
- Senior
Marcos Pujols leads the #FlyBoys with 14 long balls on the season, setting a new career high and giving him the sixth-most in a single season. In total, seven Flyers have hit at least five home runs on the season:

- The Flyers and Patriots squared off in Fairfax earlier this season, with UD taking two of three in the series.

Ben Jones led the way for Dayton with five hits in 10 at-bats, while
Carlos Castillo and
Matt Maloney each hit home runs, and
Jay Curtis drove in a team-best three.
Mark Manfredi struck out eight in five innings of work.
