Clark Announces 2024 #UDSB Slate

Flyers to See Action on Both Coasts this Coming Season

DAYTON – University of Dayton softball head coach Cara Clark has announced the completed 2024 schedule. The team will open the year in Georgia, play games from coast to coast and are slated to square off against multiple squads that competed in the 2023 NCAA Softball Championship.

Opening weekend will find the Flyers in Macon, Georgia, for the Heart of Georgia Classic hosted by Mercer Feb. 9-11. Dayton will square off against Drexel and Mercer for a total of five games at the Bears' Sikes Field. UD will close out February with a trip to the west coast to take on Cal State Northridge and UC San Diego Feb. 21-24.

Dayton will head to Bowling Green, Kentucky, next for the Hilltopper Spring Fling over the first weekend of March. UD will play five games at WKU Softball Complex against Northern Illinois, Southern Illinois and host Western Kentucky. The Flyers will be in Bloomington, Indiana, March 8-10 to take part in the Indiana Invite. Dayton is set to face off against Howard, host Indiana, IUPUI and Oakland at the Hoosiers' Andy Mohr Field.

Atlantic 10 Conference play will get started March 16-17 with three games at 2023 A-10 Champion George Mason in Fairfax, Virginia. Dayton will then play two at Purdue Fort Wayne in a midweek match-up in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

The Flyers are scheduled to play a total of 13 home dates and will kick off their home slate with a three-game A-10 series against George Washington March 23-24 at UD Softball Stadium. Two midweek games on the road at Kentucky and Ohio State will be up next, March 26 and 27, followed by a three-game set against Loyola Chicago at home March 29-30.

Dayton will host Butler for a single game Wednesday, April 3 before hitting the road for the front end of back-to-back weekends on the east coast. UD will be in Amhurst to take on A-10 foe Massachusetts April 6-7. After welcoming Akron to UD Softball Stadium for a single game April 10, Dayton will head to Bronx, N.Y., for a three-game conference set at Fordham April 13-14.

Over the next two weeks, Dayton will enjoy an extended homestand with games against Northern Kentucky and St. Bonaventure April 16 and 17, Saint Joseph's April 20-21, IUPUI April 24 and Rhode Island April 27-28.

The 2024 regular season slate will round out May 4-5 with Dayton playing three league games at Saint Louis.

The 2024 Atlantic 10 Championship, hosted by Fordham, will take place May 8-11. The four-day, double-elimination tournament will be played at the Rams' Bahoshy Field in Bronx, N.Y. The Flyers' made the program's 10th-consecutive and 14th overall appearance in the Atlantic 10 Championship in 2023.

Clark is entering her 17th season as head coach of the Dayton Flyers. With 380 wins at the helm of the Flyers program, she is Dayton's all-time career wins leader. She has tallied a total of 511 victories over her 22-year head coaching career.
