Track & Field Travels To Indianapolis For Two-Day Meet

The Flyers Head Back To Indiana To Compete In A New Facility

DAYTON – The University of Dayton track and field team will compete at the IUPUI Invitational on Friday and Saturday at the brand-new Fall Creek Pavilion. This facility, opened in July 2023, hosts a 200-meter banked track that will reflect the one that the Flyers will compete on at the A-10 Indoor Championships in Virginia Beach.

COACH'S QUOTE

"I believe that our team's dedication, hard work, and sheer talent will manifest in their performance this weekend," said Associate Head Coach Kevin Gilhuly. "These young women are ready to make their mark and demonstrate why they're a force to be reckoned with in the A-10."

LAST WEEKEND IN INDIANA

At the Indiana Invitational, the Flyers had an excellent two-day meet when they set four top-five all-time marks and eight PRs. Abby Carter also set two top-five all-time marks with her impressive mile run and 3000m times. The cross country standout ran the fifth-fastest 3000m race (9:45.05) and the fourth-fastest indoor mile (4:54.34) in UD history. Jadyn Haywood kept up her strong start to the season too as she finished in third place in the 200m dash (24.77 seconds) and second place in the 60m prelims (7.59 seconds).
