DAYTON – The No. 22-ranked Dayton volleyball team hosts Loyola Chicago for a pair of matches this weekend, Oct. 11-12, inside the friendly confines of the Frericks Center.
The Flyers and Ramblers play at 7 p.m. on Friday night and the match will be broadcast on ESPN+. Saturday's match begins at 2 p.m.

Smith Named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week
Redshirt senior
Brooke Smith was named the A-10 Player of the Week on Tuesday, marking the fourth weekly honor for the Flyers this season.

Smith played a major role in both of Dayton's sweeps at VCU last weekend, hitting an impressive .607 from the floor while averaging 3.17 kills per set. The Leo, Ind. native had eight kills and only one error for a .538 attack percentage in the first win over the Rams, then came back to collect 11 kills with just one error for a .667 mark.

Flyers Ace Road Test At Duquesne
Dayton's serve shined in Pittsburgh on Tuesday, acing Duquesne 20 times to set a new rally-scoring era record.

Six Flyers tallied at least one ace, while
Gaby Arroyo,
Karissa Kaminski and
Alyssa Miller notched three apiece. The leader from the service stripe, however, was redshirt junior
Taylor Russell, who turned in a career-high eight aces.

Russell's eight were the most in a match since former Flyer All-American Alaina Turner had eight in the 2024 season.

Atlantic 10 Winners
Dayton has four weekly honors from the Atlantic 10 thus far this season, winning Player of the Week three times and Defensive Player of the Week once.

Liana Sarkissian won her first career Player of the Week honor on Sept. 16, and redshirt senior
Lexie Almodovar added her first POW of the season a week later on Sept. 23.
Brooke Smith became the most recent Flyer to win the honor on Oct. 8.

Karissa Kaminski earned the Flyers' first Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season on Sept. 30.

Scouting Loyola Chicago
Loyola comes into the weekend with a record of 9-7 in the 2024 campaign and a 4-1 mark in A-10 action. The Ramblers are in the midst of a four-match road swing having taken down Rhode Island in Kingston last week.

Graduate student Marta Cvitkovic leads a well-balanced attack for Loyola, averaging 2.92 kills per set. Three other players, Esma Ajanovic (2.24), Kate Maley (2.09) and Ann Marie Remmes (2.07) all also average over two kills per set.
