WASHINGTON - University of Dayton softball sophomore Izzy Kemp has been named the Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week after earning two wins and a save during the Flyers' 4-1 weekend at Mercer's Heart of Georgia Classic.

George Washington freshman Mandy Lauth was named Player of the Week and Saint Louis freshman Lily Strand was chosen as the league's Rookie of the Week. The awards were announced Tuesday and are for games played February 9-11.

Kemp posted a 0.00 ERA over 16.2 innings of work on her way to two wins and a save for Dayton at the MU Heart of Georgia Classic. In the Flyers' first game of the season, she worked a complete-game shutout with eight strikeouts in an 8-0 win over Drexel Friday. On Saturday, Kemp closed out Dayton's 7-3 win over Drexel, throwing 2.2 innings and tallying three strikeouts to get the save. The Westfield, Ind., native followed that with her second complete-game shutout of the weekend, a 2-0 win over Mercer Saturday night, and was one off her career high with 11 strikeouts. For the weekend, Kemp posted a .145 opponents' batting average and recorded 22 Ks to only one walk, helping lead Dayton to a 4-1 showing.
