WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Atlantic 10 Conference announced their weekly women's basketball awards and recognized University of Dayton freshman Eve Fiala as the A-10 Rookie of the Week.

Fiala had a breakout week in her debut season, averaging team highs of 13.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game in Dayton's two contests last week. The freshmen center scored a career-high 15 points and grabbed 10 boards for her first career double-double before adding 12 points and five rebounds in the overtime win at La Salle. Fiala Shot 71.4 percent overall last week while chipping in two assists, a steal, and a block.

This is the first accolade for the Indiana, Pa. native and first for the Flyers this season.

Dayton returns to action Wednesday at Fordham University.
