DAYTON – The University of Dayton men's cross country team will travel to West Virginia to compete in the Marshall Invitational alongside the women's track and field team.
RECORD DAY AT MEYO INVITATIONAL
Last Friday,
Bryce Conley,
Owen Pukys,
Adam Jones and
Sam Duncan all ran into the UD record books in the 5000m. All four set personal bests at the Loftus Sports Center in South Bend, Indiana. Conley, shattered the school record set in 2018, running 14:28.01. Pukys also broke the school record and is now second all-time (14:34.91). Jones ran 14:37.62, which is fourth in the program's history and Duncan's 14:42.65 ranks seventh.
STARTING FLYERS
James Mroczka will make his UD track debut in the 5000m on Friday. The Freshman earned A-10 Rookie of the Week for his collegiate debut in cross country after being the top rookie finisher at Wright State University running 15:32.5.
Senior
Calan Gizelbach is racing for the first time since the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Race in cross country, where he earned the 10th-best 10K time at UD with his time of 31:44.9.
Isaac Burkart will also compete in the 5000m, the Junior's top performance last year was a fourth place finish in the Blizzard Buster at Miami University, where the Toledo, Ohio, native ran 15:12.91.
Jameson Maynes will be the fourth Flyer competing in the 5000m. The sophomore from Milford, Ohio, is making his collegiate debut in the event.
Dayton will have one runner in the 3000m.
Noah Clemens is back on the track in Huntington, where last year he finished fourth at the Marshall Invitational with a personal best of 8:53.18.
