WASHINGTON D.C. – The University of Dayton volleyball team has been picked No. 1 in the 2024 Atlantic 10 Conference preseason poll the league office announced Tuesday ahead of the start of the season.
The Flyers, who went 32-3 a season ago and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, earned 10 first-place votes and tallied 100 points in the poll which was voted on by the league's 10 head coaches.
Loyola Chicago finished second in the preseason poll with 89 points, with VCU, Davidson and Saint Louis rounding out the top five. The Ramblers advanced to the final of the 2023 A-10 Championship.
The 2024 season begins Friday, Aug. 30 with all 10 teams of the A-10 in action. UD hosts the 2024 Flyer Invitational Aug. 30-31 with UNI, FIU and RV Ohio State coming to the Frericks Center. The 2024 Atlantic 10 Volleyball Championship will be hosted by Dayton inside the Frericks Center Nov. 22-24.
