DAYTON – CareSource and the University of Dayton men's basketball team will host an exhibition game with Penn State on Sunday, Oct. 19 at 2 p.m. at UD Arena. The game, which is sold out, kicks off the third year of community engagement events championing adolescent and young adult mental health and suicide prevention.
The Flyers kicked off the inaugural CareSource Charity Exhibition by hosting Ohio State in 2023, and the mental health initiative has grown since. Last season, Dayton hosted long-time rival Xavier, while Ohio State played at Cincinnati and Kansas traveled to paly Arkansas.
This season, Georgia kicked off the Exhibition Series of Mental Health by hosting Georgia State. After the Flyers host the Nittany Lions on Sunday, UD Arena will also host a pair of games as part of the on Monday, Oct. 20. The Mid-Major Mental Health Games will see Northern Kentucky and Ashland square off at 6 p.m. and Wright State and Ohio follow after.
Two other games will be part of the Mental Health series, as Cincinnati travels to Arkansas to take on the Razorbacks, Oct. 24, and a regular-season battle between Louisville and Indiana will put the finishing touches on the 2025 CareSource Mental Health series with a Dec. 6 game
Dayton will host the CareSource Mental Health Pep Rally on Tuesday, Oct. 21 for local students in grades six through 12. Head Flyers Coach
Anthony Grant and his wife Chris, as well as Scott Markovich, the executive vice president of markets and products at CareSource, will speak.
UD will also play an exhibition game on Monday, Oct. 27, against Bowling Green at 7 p.m. ET. The Flyers open the 2025-26 season on Monday, Nov. 3 when Canisius pays a visit to UD Arena at 7 p.m.
