Firenze, Ferguson Chosen As CollegeAdvantage Student-Athletes Of The Week

Dayton Student-Athletes Will Be Recognized Throughout the School Year

DAYTON - University of Dayton football sophomore Vincent Firenze and women's soccer senior Karli Ferguson have been named the Ohio's CollegeAdvantage Student-Athletes of the Week. These awards are for contests held Oct. 20-26.

Firenze, a native of Syracuse, N.Y., recorded a career-high 14 tackles and had a pick-six in Dayton's upset win over No. 16/19 Presbyterian Saturday. The redshirt sophomore safety totaled seven solo tackles and seven assisted, while also intercepting a pass in the third quarter as the Blue Hose were threatening to make it a one-possession game. Firenze ranks second on the team in tackles and interceptions this season. He was named PFL Defensive Player of the Week and the FCS National Defensive Player of the Week as well.

Ferguson had a three-point week for the Flyers, registering her team-leading fifth assist of the season in UD's 2-1 win over George Mason. The Chicago native scored her first goal of the 2025 campaign to lead UD to a 2-0 win over Rhode Island to lead the Flyers to a perfect 10-0 Atlantic 10 campaign.
