WASHINGTON, D.C. – The University of Dayton women's soccer team, fresh off a perfect 10-0 Atlantic 10 season, won four of six major end-of-season awards from the conference, the league announced Tuesday afternoon. Sophomore
Liv Grenda was named Midfielder of the Year, senior
Kyra Karfonta won Defensive Player of the Year, senior goalie
Batoul Reda earned Goalkeeper of the Year, and head coach
Eric Golz was named Coach of the Year.

All three award winners were also named All-Atlantic 10 first team honorees and were joined by sophomore forward
Laney Smith, who earns the nod for the second straight season.

Grenda finished the season with 16 total points thanks to six goals and four assists, while also helping the Flyers to 13 shutouts in the midfield. Her Midfielder of the Year honor is the first for the Flyers since UD Hall of Famer Nicole Waters earned the nod in 2015.

Karfonta became the ninth Defensive Player of the Year in program history, helping lead the Flyers to 13 shutouts while also contributing nine points (3 goals, 3 assists) on offense.

Reda is the first Flyer to be named Goalkeeper of the Year, an award that came into existence in 2023. Reda has tied the single-season shutout record with 13 this season, and set the program record for career shutouts with 40.

Smith was named a first-teamer after leading the league's best team with 17 points on the season, scoring six goals and totaling five assists. The Fort Thomas, Ky. native became just the second Flyer in program history to earn First Team honors in each of her first two seasons.

Golz was named Coach of the Year for the first time in his career after leading the Flyers to the league's first perfect Atlantic 10 season in seven years. The ninth-year head coach reached the 100-win milestone in his Dayton tenure and has a career record of 120-68-25 in 11 seasons.

Dayton also placed a program-record five student-athletes on second team, as senior forward
Karli Ferguson, senior midfielder
Molly Russell, senior defender
Ella Raimondi, redshirt sophomore
Lauren Fields and sophomore
Bre Mendoza earned the nod.

The freshman trio of
Ky Hau-Golden,
Emery Newlin and
Caroline Schork were each named to the A-10 All-Rookie team.

Rounding out the honors was the trio of Grenda, Raimondi and Reda being named to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic team. It marks the second time for Reda to get the All-Academic nod, while Grenda and Raimondi are first time honorees. To be named to the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must hold a GPA over 3.0 while also being a starter or major contributor.
