Simone Bessong have been named the
Ohio's 529 Plan CollegeAdvantage Student-Athletes of the Week. These awards are for contests held Dec. 1-7.
Montgomery had another strong week for the Flyers, averaging 19.5 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals per contest in Dayton's 1-1 week. The guard shot .500 (13-of-26) from the floor and .909 (10-of-11) from the free throw line. A native of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, his 27 points against East Tennessee State on Tuesday night tied a career-high, while also pulling down seven rebounds. Montgomery kept his double-digit streak alive with a 12-point performance against Virginia on Saturday.
Bessong made history in her collegiate debut at the Tiger Open hosted by Wittenberg University. The freshman finished second in the 60m dash by running the third-fastest time in Dayton history at 7.48. The Florence, Kentucky, native was also part of the 4x200 relay team that broke the school record at 1:38.94.
