#FlyBoys Travel To NKU, Host Bellarmine In Midweek Matchups

The Flyers And Knights Are Now UD's Home Opener Wednesday At 2:30 P.M.

DAYTON - The University of Dayton baseball returns to action with a pair of midweek matchups, first taking on Northern Kentucky on the road on Tuesday at 2 p.m., then playing Bellarmine at home on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m.

UD and Bellarmine will now play at Woerner Field at AES Ohio Stadium on Wednesday due to field conditions for the Knights. It will be the 2025 home opener for the FlyBoys.

The Flyers take on the Norse on Tuesday in Highland Heights, Ky. at the Bill Aker Baseball Complex.

NEW GUYS IN TOWN
- Not only is Wednesday's game against Bellarmine the home opener, it is also the Gem City debuts for many of the FlyBoys in the starting lineup.
- Of the regular UD starters, seven will have the opportunity to make their home debuts on Wednesday afternoon. Michael DiMartini, Aiden Heberlie, Adin Zorn, Bobby Stang, Rylan Lujo, Dyrenson Wouters, and Ty Mainolfi have all started at least three games, with DiMartini, Lujo, Mainolfi, Wouters and Zorn starting all seven.

BY-YOU BENNETT
- Sophomore Bennett LaPalm answered the call when his number was called against No. 10 Florida on Saturday night, coming into the contest and striking out all three Gators he faced. The native of nearby Bellbrook, Ohio has already thrown more innings in the 2025 season than all of 2024.

#FLYBOYS' 2025 TATERS
- The Flyers have hit three home runs in the first seven games of the season. Michael DiMartini left the yard for the first UD home run of the season against Monmouth, Martin Howell launched a resounding shot over the left field wall to put the exclamation mark on a win over Western Michigan, and Bobby Stang hit his first homer as a Flyer in Sunday's loss at No. 10 Florida.

FRESHMAN PHENOM
- Freshman Rylan Lujo has started every game at third base for the Flyers while hitting third in the order. He leads the team in batting average (.304) and has reached base at a .370 clip.

NEXT UP
- Dayton hosts Bradley from the Missouri Valley Conference this weekend, Friday Feb. 28 and Sunday, March 2. Because of the Dayton men's basketball home game on Saturday, March 1, the Flyers and Braves will play a doubleheader Friday and a single game Sunday.
