#UDXC Earns National All-Academic Team Honors

Both Men and Women Honored For Team GPA

DAYTON -   The University of Dayton cross-country teams performed both on and off the course in 2024. Earlier this week, both the men's and women's teams were honored for their accomplishments in the classroom as All-Academic teams for the second consecutive year.

The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the Flyers among the top academic performing programs in the country. To qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period.

The men's team received the honor with a 3.62 team GPA and has been recognized seven of the last eight years. The women were honored with a 3.64 GPA and have been named to the list ten of the last eleven years.

Head Coach David Dobson emphasized the hard work of his student-athletes in both their training and their studies, saying, "I am proud of our entire team whose effort is often recognized for the rewards on the course but now can celebrate the high-level work in the classroom. This honor is a signal that our athletes are not only pushing themselves to grow in fitness but challenging themselves to expand their thinking through their coursework."
