Dayton Student-Athletes Will Be Recognized Throughout the School Year

DAYTON - University of Dayton men's tennis junior Sai Dore and softball senior Chloe Wong have been named the Ohio's CollegeAdvantage Student-Athletes of the Week. These awards are for contests held March 10-16.

Dore had a fantastic week for the Flyers, helping Dayton to a 2-0 week over Tennessee State and Xavier with two wins in both singles and doubles. The Springboro, Ohio, native won both singles matches at No. 3, 6-1, 6-1 and 6-1, 6-4. Dore also won both doubles, including the clincher over Tennessee State 7-6 (7-3). The junior has now won nine matches this spring.

Wong helped lead Dayton to a 4-1 week with a .357 average highlighted by two home runs in a single game to go with six runs, five hits and five RBI. UD's everyday starter at third base showed out against Saint Louis in the nightcap of Friday's doubleheader with a perfect 4-for-4 showing at the plate with four runs scored, three RBI and two home runs. On the hot corner for the Flyers, Wong recorded four putouts and six assists for a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. Dayton's lone loss of the week was to then-top-ranked Texas, 6-1, on Monday.
