Rylan Lujo has been named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Lujo hit .609 (14-of-23) with four home runs and two doubles on the week, turning in an OPS of 1.884. The Coconut Creek, Fla. native reached base via hit in all five games on the week, and had his first career two-homer game against Ohio, including a two-out, game-tying home run in the top of the ninth. The third baseman registered his first career five-hit game against the Bobcats, and also had a three-hit showing in the Flyers' win over Saint Louis.
Lujo hit safely in all five games this week, including four multi-hit performances. The freshman is now hitting .417 on the season with a 1.145 OPS and is tied for the national lead among freshman in doubles with 10.
