ANN ARBOR, Mich. - University of Dayton track and field's sprints and jumps teams hit the track for the first time in the new year on Saturday at the Wolverine Invitational, hosted by the University of Michigan.

Highlights
- Senior Jadyn Haywood recorded her first win of the season, taking the top spot in the 60m dash. She tied her personal best of 7.45 seconds in the prelims, the second fastest time in school history, before winning the final in a time of 7.49.
- Senior Raegan Ernst finished fifth in the 60m hurdles, recording a personal best and the fourth fastest time in school history of 8.84 in the prelims before besting herself in the final, finishing in 8.80 seconds, which ranks her third all-time.
- Freshman Simone Bessong won her first collegiate 200m race, recording the third fastest time in school history of 24.36.
- Four other Flyers finished in the top ten of the 200m. Junior Sydney Workman came third in a personal best time of 25.47. Freshmen Chloe Hamilton and Gianna Lane finished fifth and sixth in their first 200m races as Flyers, and Junior Mariya Washington earned an eighth-place finish with a PR of 25.84.
- The 4x400 team of Washington, Workman, Junior Grace Felts, and Bessong finished fourth in a time of 3:54.83.

- The Flyers will head to Indianapolis next weekend, January 16th and 17th, for the Hoosier Horsepower Classic at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. It will be the first time that UD has competed as a full team this season.
