VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.- University of Dayton track and field has wrapped up its first day of competition at the A-10 Indoor Championships, entering the second day of competition sitting in third place and having already claimed two individual championships.

Rebekah Conrad were both crowned as individual conference champions in the pentathlon and weight throw, respectively.

Highlights
- Senior Rebekah Conrad celebrated her birthday by winning the conference championship in the weight throw, tossing a mark of 18.98m to set a new personal record.
- Senior Raegan Ernst was crowned A-10 champion in the pentathlon, winning the 60m hurdles and the long jump in the process. She set PRs in both the 60m hurdles, an event in which she tied her own school record, and the 800m.
- Senior Jadyn Haywood broke her own school record in the 200m prelims as she crossed the line in 23.74, the top time in the prelims and an A-10 championships meet record.
- Three total Flyers ran times in the program's all-time top five to qualify for Saturday's final. In addition to Haywood, Freshman Simone Bessong ran 24.11, the second fastest time in the field and the second best time in school history. Junior Sydney Workman set a huge PR of 24.59, the fourth-best time in school history and the fifth fastest time in the prelims.
