INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - University of Dayton track and field competed at the Fairgrounds Invitational in Indianapolis this weekend. The two-day event was the third meet the Flyers have taken part in at the Indiana State Fairgrounds this season, and saw three school records fall, 15 PRs set, and nine top-five finishes.
Highlights
- Senior Raegan Ernst continued her strong season by finishing second in the 60m hurdles, setting a school record of 8.56 in the process.
- After finishing second in the prelims, Senior Jadyn Haywood would go on to win the 60m dash final, recording a personal best of 7.42, improving her #2 all-time mark. Haywood would then earn her second victory of the weekend on Saturday in the 200m, improving her school record of 23.96.
- The 4x400m team of Juniors Mariya Washington, Sydney Workman, Grace Felts, and Freshman Simone Bessong set a school record of 3:47.58 in the event to finish second. UD's 4x400m school record has now been broken both of the last two weeks.
- Sophomore Mia Gill earned third place in the 800m and set a PR of 2:14.65, which is the second fastest indoor time in school history.
- Workman finished fourth in the 400m in a personal best time of 56.81, which ranks her third in school history. Washington also finished in the top ten, running a personal best of 57.82.
- Junior Camryn Thompson finished fourth in the high jump with a mark of 1.69.
- Junior Cara Mooney took second place in the mile, running a personal record of 5:00.56.
