DAYTON – The University of Dayton baseball team will welcome VCU to Woerner Field at AES Ohio Stadium for its first home Atlantic 10 series of the season.
Games will not be live streamed, but there will be live stats.
LAST TIME OUT
Dayton took on Miami (Ohio) for a midweek game yesterday, falling to the RedHawks 13-7.
Bobby Stang led scoring efforts with a three-RBI double in the fifth and was the only Flyer with more than one RBI. Jason Bello and Ryan MacDougall both were 2-for-3 on the day.
SCOUTING VCU
The Rams are 11-9 overall this season with a 3-0 record in A-10 play after sweeping La Salle last weekend and falling 11-8 to Virginia Tech on Wednesday. VCU is also 0-6 on the road this season.
Nate Kirkpatrick leads the Rams with a .344 batting average and 16 RBIs. Patrick Steitz, Saturday's projected starter, has a 2.17 ERA with 27 strikeouts in 29 innings pitched and was Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week this week.
LAST MEETING
Dayton is 7-15 against VCU since 2013. The FlyBoys did not play the Rams last season but went 1-2 against VCU in 2024, splitting the regular season series before the third game was canceled and dropping a playoff game 11-3.
DAYTON AT DAY AIR
UD and the Dayton Dragons announced on Tuesday that the FlyBoys will host Wright State at Day Air Ballpark on April 15. Tickets can be purchased here, and students can claim free tickets here.
This will be Dayton's sixth consecutive game at Day Air. 2023's game against the Raiders set an attendance record for the FlyBoys of 6,743 attendees.
