DAYTON – The University of Dayton baseball team will continue its non-conference schedule with a Tuesday midweek game against Miami (Ohio).
First pitch is slated for 3 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
Last weekend, Dayton hosted VCU, going 1-2 against the Rams. VCU won the first two games of the series with the FlyBoys taking the final game 14-12.
Jason Bello, Ryan MacDougall and Bobby Stang each hit home runs in Sunday's win. Colin Lynch led Dayton's offense with a .462 batting average. The Flyers' pitchers struck out 32 batters, led by Jon Whiteside's 11 K's.
SCOUTING MIAMI (OHIO)
The RedHawks are 14-8 this season with a 5-4 record in the Mid-American Conference. Miami (Ohio) was swept by Northern Illinois last weekend.
Tommy Harrison leads the RedHawks with a .423 batting average and 32 RBIs. His .795 slugging percentage is good for No. 31 in the country. Marcus Dierks leads Miami (Ohio) with 20 stolen bases this season. Clayton Burke has a 4.30 ERA with two wins this season.
LAST MEETING
The Flyers and the RedHawks are familiar foes, having played each other just last week. Miami (Ohio) won 13-7 in Oxford, Ohio.
Jason Bello and Ryan MacDougall were both 2-for-3 on the day. Bobby Stang had a three-RBI double in the fifth inning. Dayton's pitchers struck out five batters.
DAYTON AT DAY AIR
UD and the Dayton Dragons announced on Tuesday that the FlyBoys will host Wright State at Day Air Ballpark on April 15. Tickets can be purchased here, and students can claim free tickets here.
This will be Dayton's sixth consecutive game at Day Air. 2023's game against the Raiders set an attendance record for the FlyBoys of 6,743 attendees.
