CEDARVILLE, Ohio– The University of Dayton track and field team continued its outdoor schedule around the country this weekend with athletes competing in the Raleigh Relays, hosted by NC State University, the Don McGarey Invitational hosted by Kennesaw State University, and the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Outdoor Opener, hosted by Cedarville University.
Over the weekend, the Flyers earned 14 top-five finishes, including four finishes atop the podium from
Jadyn Haywood,
Jameson Pillifant, and
Camryn Thompson. Six Flyers recorded top-five all-time marks, including school records from Haywood, Pillifant, Ernst and the 4x100m relay team.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Senior Jadyn Haywood made her outdoor season debut at Kennesaw State, winning the 200m and breaking her own school record in a time of 23.60. On Saturday, she won the 100m in a time of 11.52.
- Sophomore Jameson Pillifant won the 400m hurdles, breaking her own school record in a time of 1:00.71. Senior Raegan Ernst finished fifth in the event in a personal best time of 1:03.34, which ranks her fifth in school history.
- The 4x100m team of Chloe Hamilton, Charlotte Deines, Sydney Workman, and Jadyn Haywood set a school record of 45.72 and finished second overall at Kennesaw State.
- Ernst tied the school record of 14.22 in the 100m hurdles on Saturday.
- Junior Camryn Thompson jumped the second-highest mark in program history of 1.70 as she won the high jump on Saturday at Kennesaw State.
- Junior Olivia Kindbom finished second overall in her steeplechase season debut, running a personal best time of 11:32.95 in the 3,000m event at Cedarville.
- Freshman Gianna Lane set a personal record of 5.36m as she finished third in the long jump at Cedarville.
