DAYTON – The University of Dayton is playing back-to-back midweek games, facing Bowling Green and Wright State.
The FlyBoys will take on Bowling Green on the road on April 14 at 3 p.m. UD will then host Wright State at Day Air Ballpark on April 15 at 7 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
Dayton was swept by Saint Joseph's last weekend. Friday's game went to 10 innings before SJU broke the tie.
Michael Smith Jr. led the team with a .545 batting average, two doubles and a home run. In eight innings of work, Sawyer Jensen struck out seven batters.
SCOUTING BOWLING GREEN
The Falcons are 14-19 overall and 8-10 in the MAC, going 1-2 at home against Central Michigan this past weekend.
Anthony Mitta leads Bowling Green with a .304 batting average with 34 hits. Ethan Stade, April 9's MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week, has 55 strikeouts with a 4.50 ERA, pacing the Falcons.
LAST MEETING
Dayton is 24-49 all-time against Bowling Green, falling to the Falcons 9-5 at home back on March 10.
Bobby Stang hit a two-run home run to left field in the first inning. Three players also hit doubles for the FlyBoys. Danny MacDougall had three stolen bases on the day. Niklas Pavia led the pitching staff with six strikeouts.
SCOUTING WRIGHT STATE
Wright State is 17-15 overall, boasting an 11-1 record in the Horizon League. Against Youngstown State, the Raiders won all three games.
Last week, Keegan Holmstrom and Chet Lax won the HL Batter and Pitcher of the Week. Holmstrom leads the team with a .422 batting average. Lax has a 3.04 ERA with 10 appearances and seven starts.
LAST MEETING
The FlyBoys are 5-23 against Wright State, having not played the Raiders since 2023. Dayton split with the Raiders that year, defeating them at Day Air Ballpark before falling to them in Fairborn, Ohio.
UD won 2023's Day Air game 8-3, aided by Mason Dobie's two-RBI double and grand slam.

This will be Dayton's sixth consecutive game at Day Air. 2023's game against the Raiders set an attendance record for the FlyBoys of 6,743 attendees.
