Baseball To Play Bellarmine At Home On Tuesday

The FlyBoys Have Only Played Bellarmine Twice

DAYTON – In a late schedule addition, the University of Dayton baseball team will host Bellarmine for a game on April 21 at 3 p.m.

Originally an away game at Michigan, Dayton will now welcome the ASUN member to Woerner Field at AES Ohio Stadium.

LAST TIME OUT
Dayton went 1-2 against Richmond this past weekend, winning the opening game 10-2 before dropping the final two games of the series.

Danny MacDougall led the FlyBoys, going 9-for-12, good for a .750/.765/1.083 slash line. Jason Bello hit three home runs against the Spiders, including two in Sunday's 11-9 loss. UD's pitching staff combined for 22 strikeouts, including six for Niklas Pavia.

SCOUTING BELLARMINE
The Knights are 16-23 overall and 9-9 in the Atlantic Sun Conference. Last weekend, Bellarmine fell to Austin Peay in all three games of the series.

AJ Swader leads Bellarmine with a .377 batting average, 49 RBIs and nine home runs. Landon Akers, the Knights' shortstop, has 11 stolen bases to lead Bellarmine. Chase Chamberlain has 25 punchouts, the most for Bellarmine's pitchers.

LAST MEETING
The FlyBoys have only faced the Knights twice, going 1-1 in midweek games last season.

In Dayton's 6-4 loss at Bellarmine last season, Michael DiMartini accounted for all four of the FlyBoys' runs. When UD won 20-10 at home, Ryan MacDougall and Dyrenson Wouters each had two RBIs. MacDougall also helped lead the team with four runs scored.

UP NEXT
Dayton will head to New York to play a series with St. Bonaventure on April 24-26.
